Rivers are the truly wild remaining places of Kansas. The Arkansas River has been designated by the national Park service as a national water trail which means the river is protected and to be preserved while accessible to the public. The designation stretches 192 miles from great Bend to the Oklahoma border. Kaws is working with A variety of incredible partners to develop signage and access points for Kansans’ and visitors to kayak, canoe, camp, fish, birdwatch and explore the vitality of our amazing natural environment in its most vibrant form.
